Cabozantinib is an anti-cancer medicine . It is used in the treatment of following types of cancers :

Common side effects of Cabozantinib are:

1. loss of appetite & weight loss
2. constipation
3. difficulty swallowing, nausea & vomiting
4. loss of food taste
5. hemorrhoids
6. sore throat
7. dry and pale skin
8. anxiety
9. tiredness or weakness
10. pain in joints, arms, or legs
11. alopecia ( hair loss )
12. diarrhea
13. stomach pain
14. numbness, burning, or tingling in the hands and legs
15. swollen gums

Serious side effects of of Cabozantinib are:

1. chest pain
2. coughing up blood
3. abnormal and heavy menstrual bleeding
4. red or black stool
5. nose bleed
6. shortness of breath
7. difficulty in breathing
8. cardiav arrhythmia 
9. severe headache
10. seizures

Drug Interactions

Cabozantinib may interact with few medicines like anti fungal medicines, probenecid or anti seizure medicines so inform your doctor about your medicines.

Contraindications

Cabozantinib is should not be used in pregnant women and patients with history of cardiac arrhythmia.

Mechanism of Action

Cabozantinib belongs to kinase inhibitors class of drug. It prevents the growth , multiplication and spread of cancer cells by blocking the actions of abnormal proteins in the cancer cells.
