Linagliptin 5mg (Trajenta 5 mg Tablet) is used in the treatment of type-2 diabetes. Linagliptin provides better glycemic control along with controlled diet and exercise.

Side Effects of Emlinz 5mg Tablet 10s

Linagliptin side effects include nausea, inflammation in throat and sometimes it may lead to low blood sugar level especially when taken along with insulin or or other hypoglycemic agent.

Drug Interactions

Lipagliptin may show interact with following medicines there should be discussed with doctor before starting therapy : Deflazacort
Hydrocortisone
Methylprednisolone
Escitalopram Oxalate
Pancreatin
Propranolol
Paroxetine

Mechanism of Action

Linagliptin is a competitive and reversible dipeptidyl peptidase (DPP)-4 enzyme inhibitor that slows the breakdown of insulinotropic hormone glucagon-like peptide (GLP)-1 for better glycemic control in diabetes patients.
This results in a overall decrease in glucose production in the liver and increase an of insulin in a glucose-dependent manner.

Special Precautions

Lipagliptin (Trajenta tablet) should be taken carefully with insulin or sulfonylureas as it can increase the risk of hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level).

Take orally with food and water, as directed by your physician.
