Favipiravir is an anti-viral drug . It is used in the treatment in the treatment of mild to moderate cases of Covid-19 along with other supportive care.

Side Effects of Fabiflu 200mg Tablet 34s

Some of the common side effects of favipiravir are :
1. Increased uric acid level in blood
2. Diarrhea and stomach ache
3. Decreased white blood cell count (neutrophils)

Contraindications

Favipiravir is contraindicated in patients with severe renal, hepatic impairment, pregnant & lactating women.
Favipiravir is contraindicated in patients with history of hypersensitivity to Favipiravi

Mechanism of Action

Favipiravir is an anti-viral medicine. It works by inhibiting the activity of RNA dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp) of SARS CoV2.The inhibition of RdRp leads to inhibition of the viral multiplication in body. Thereby reduces the viral load inside the body.

Special Precautions

Favipiravir should be used with caution in patient with history of abnormalities in metabolism of uric acid or having Gout.
