Uses of Aritoz Tablet 14s

Anastrozole is used to treat:

1. Treat early breast cancer in women after menopause
2. Treat breast cancer that has spread to other parts of the body in women after menopause
3. Prevent breast cancer in women who are at high risk of developing the disease and have already gone through menopause

Side Effects of Aritoz Tablet 14s

Anastrozole can cause side effects, including:

1. Hot flashes
2. Night sweats
3. Vaginal dryness
4. Joint pain
5. Fatigue
6. Bone loss
7. Liver problems
8. High blood pressure
9. Heart problems
10. Allergic reactions

Drug Interactions

Efficacy decreased by oestrogens. Plasma concentrations decreased by tamoxifen.

Contraindications

Pregnancy. Hypersensitivity, premenopausal women.

Mechanism of Action

Anastrozole is a type of drug called an aromatase inhibitor. Aromatase inhibitors work by blocking the production of estrogen, a hormone that can help breast cancer cells grow.

Aromatase is an enzyme that converts androgens (male hormones) into estrogens. Anastrozole binds to the aromatase enzyme and blocks it from working. This prevents the production of estrogen, which can help to slow or stop the growth of breast cancer cells.

Special Precautions

Lactation. Moderate or severe hepatic impairment, hyperlipidaemias. Laboratory test for menopause if status is doubtful. Bone mass density test should be conducted at the start of the therapy and at regular intervals thereafter.

How to Use

Take orally with food and water, as directed by your physician.

Keep in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and moisture.
