Uses of Pirfenex 200 mg Tablet 15s

Pirfenidone is used for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. It works by reducing lung fibrosis through downregulation of the production of growth factors and procollagens I and II.

Side Effects of Pirfenex 200 mg Tablet 15s

Pirfenidone has the tendency to cause side effects such as
lack of appetite
GERD
Skin rashes, photo sensitivity and dry skin
weight loss
dizzines and drowsiness

Contraindications

Pirfenidone should not be used in patients who are taking medicines like
Fluvoxamine ,
fluoxetine and paroxetine
ciprofloxacin,
amiodarone and
propafenone

Mechanism of Action

Pirfenidone has anti-inflammatory and antifibrotic action due to its ability to reduce the release of procollagens I & II and tumor necrosis factor alpha.

Special Precautions

Cigarette smoking can increase the excretion of pirfenidone and thereby reducing its therapeutic action . Patients should be advised not to smoke while taking Pirfenidone as therapy.

How to Use

Take orally with food and water, as directed by your physician.

How to Store

Keep in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and moisture.

Safety Concerns

• Alcohol: Avoid during treatment.
• Breastfeeding: Not recommended.
• Pregnancy: Contraindicated.
• Liver/Kidney: Use with caution.
