Uses of Stablon Tab

Tianeptine is an anti-depressent medicine . It is used in the treatment of major depressive disorder . However it can also indicated in following conditions
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
Anxiety
Asthma

Side Effects of Stablon Tab

Tianeptine side effects include
Abdominal pain, constipation & lack of appetite
dry mouth
Tiredness and muscular pain
Nervousness , lack of sleep and confusion
headache,shivering & vertigo, tremour

Drug Interactions

Potentially Fatal: Avoid concurrent admin with MAOI, start tianeptine 2 week after discontinuation from MAOI.

Contraindications

Children below 15 years of age. Pregnancy and lactation.

Mechanism of Action

Tianeptine exerts its antidepressant action by increasing the presynaptic re-uptake of serotonin.

Special Precautions

General anaesthesia; tasks requiring mental alertness. Avoid abrupt withdrawal, dosage to be decreased gradually over 7-14 days.

How to Use

Take orally with food and water, as directed by your physician.

How to Store

Keep in a cool, dry place away from sunlight and moisture.

Safety Concerns

• Alcohol: Avoid during treatment.
• Breastfeeding: Not recommended.
• Pregnancy: Contraindicated.
• Liver/Kidney: Use with caution.
